Clean Energy Alliance (CEA) is excited to announce the launch of its PeakSmart Savers program. This innovative program is designed to help residential customers lower their electricity bills, offering reduced energy rates most of the year. In return, customers are asked to shift or reduce their energy use on days when demand on the grid is forecasted to be high.
“PeakSmart Savers is a direct extension of our commitment to providing affordable, sustainable and sensible energy solutions to our communities,” said CEA Chief Executive Officer Greg Wade. “By offering up to 30% lower rates, we’re making it easier for residents to save money and effectively manage their energy use.”
Available to most residential customers, PeakSmart Savers empowers participants to maximize their energy savings and reduce demand on the grid when it’s needed most. Customers enjoy on-peak and off-peak electricity rates that are 30% lower than standard rates most of the year.
In turn, CEA can call up to 18 Load Reduction Events annually during high-demand hours (4-9 p.m.). Energy used during on-peak periods on a Load Reduction Event will incur a Load Reduction Adder of $1.10 per kWh. CEA will provide real-time text and email notifications to PeakSmart customers for Load Reduction Events.
Participants who enroll in the program in 2025 will also receive bill protection guarantees as they adjust to the program. If a customer’s total charges exceed what they would have paid without PeakSmart, CEA will credit the difference after the first year.
Enrollment is now open to CEA residential customers on eligible time-of-use rates. Interested customers can enroll at the PeakSmart Savers webpage or by calling CEA’s customer service at (833) 232-3110.
