Meet some of our Green Impact Champions:
City of Del Mar
Incorporated in 1959, the City of Del Mar is a quaint seaside village located just 20 miles north of San Diego. With a population of approximately 4,200 people, and covering just 2.2 square miles, Del Mar is known for its vibrant small-town atmosphere. Del Mar attracts residents, and upwards of 2 million visitors annually from all over the world, who come to enjoy the beautiful dog-friendly beaches, hiking trails, scenic views, and the many shops and dining opportunities located within the Del Mar village. Del Mar has taken proactive steps to be more environmentally friendly, such as installing solar at the Civic Center, offering electric vehicle charging at Civic Center and the Beach Safety Center, and expanding recycled water infrastructure throughout the City.
City of Solana Beach
Solana Beach, which can mean “warm wind” or “sunny spot”, is a four-square-mile, small, vibrant coastal city known for its walkability and is home to numerous scenic trails, welcoming surf breaks, and natural tide pools. The community rallied to incorporate in 1986, in large part, to keep what is now known as the Harbaugh Seaside Trails undeveloped and to limit the overdevelopment of the coastal bluffs. Solana Beach is now home to 13,000 residents and has a long history of environmental stewardship, including being the first city in San Diego County to ban single-use plastic bags and polystyrene and opting up all municipal accounts to CEA’s 100% renewable energy option.
City of Vista
The City of Vista is proud to be a Green Impact Champion with Clean Energy Alliance and to run on 100% renewable energy. The City aims to lead by example for its residents and businesses when it comes to green energy. Vista has many things to offer, from our parks and community services to the Moonlight Amphitheater productions, to the Wave Waterpark, and much more. We are thrilled to do our part and support renewable energy.

City of Carlsbad
The City of Carlsbad is proud to be a Green Impact Champion with Clean Energy Alliance, opting up to 100% renewable energy for all municipal accounts. Known for its scenic coastline, lagoons and more than 60 miles of trails, Carlsbad is committed to protecting its natural resources.
Environmental sustainability is one of five key goals in the City Council’s 5-Year Strategic Plan. In November 2024, the city adopted an updated Climate Action Plan with new strategies for clean energy, sustainable transportation, water conservation and waste reduction.
Carlsbad also has local policies that limit single-use plastics, ban polystyrene and balloon releases, and promote recycling and composting. Opting up to 100% renewable energy is one more way Carlsbad is helping to maintain a clean, healthy environment for all who live, work and visit here.

Carlsbad Unified School District
Carlsbad Unified School District is located in San Diego County in southern California, approximately 25 miles north of San Diego. The District covers approximately 42 square miles and serves a Carlsbad population of over 110,000, as well as portions of the communities of Oceanside and San Marcos. Carlsbad Unified schools accommodate more than 10,700 students.
The District provides a comprehensive curriculum, enabling all students to excel as they meet the challenges and opportunities of our changing world. All of our schools offer students the means to succeed by providing programs that maximize the abilities, talents, and interests of every individual. Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation
Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation energizes people through education and outreach to preserve the Agua Hedionda Lagoon as an accessible and healthy watershed. Vista Unified School District
Vista Unified School District is located in North San Diego County and serves the city of Vista, along with portions of Oceanside, San Marcos, Carlsbad, and nearby unincorporated communities. Covering approximately 39 square miles, the District is one of North County’s largest educational agencies, serving nearly 19,000 students from preschool through grade 12, as well as a robust adult education population.
