Clean Energy Alliance (CEA) is accepting applications from residents to join the CEA Community Advisory Committee (CAC). The CAC has seven open positions, one spot per member city, with applications open through December 21.
The CAC is made up of two dedicated representatives from each member city who provide feedback on CEA programs, connect the Board of Directors with the community, and foster public engagement.
“Joining the CAC is a great opportunity for residents to provide direct input on clean energy initiatives affecting their own community,” said CEA CEO Greg Wade.
CAC members also offer guidance on clean energy programs, policies and outreach strategies, as well as input on local sustainability initiatives and rate-setting recommendations. CAC member input will inform decisions that impact CEA’s member cities.
Members will serve two-year terms, and term limits have been removed to preserve valuable expertise. The CAC Chair, selected annually from within the committee, will provide regular updates to the CEA Board to ensure strong communication between the community and decision-makers.
The CEA Board will review applications and make appointments at the January 30, 2025 Board of Directors meeting. Interested residents can find more information and download the application from the CAC webpage. Completed applications should be emailed to clerk@thecleanenergyalliance.org.
About CEA
CEA is a public, not-for-profit entity and an alternative to San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) for power generation. On April 1, the Cities of Oceanside and Vista became the newest members of CEA, joining Carlsbad, Del Mar, Escondido, San Marcos and Solana Beach in providing cleaner energy to their residents and businesses. Across the member cities, CEA replaces SDG&E as the entity responsible for purchasing power from energy providers. SDG&E continues to deliver this energy to homes and businesses, and continues to handle all energy billing. Customers from Oceanside and Vista will continue to receive one bill from SDG&E for all energy services, including CEA’s charges for power generation.
